About us

Tidewell started in 2017 with a 1 kg sample roaster and a market stall on Gaol Ferry Steps. Today we roast on a 15 kg drum machine in a railway arch nearby, but not much else has changed: small batches, seasonal coffee and roasting to order.

How we buy

We work with a handful of importers who share farm names, varieties, processing and the price paid to the producer. We buy what tastes good in the season it is good, which is why our line-up changes through the year.

How we roast

Every coffee is profiled on sample batches first, then roasted to order the day before dispatch and rested so it is ready to brew when it reaches you. Nothing sits on a shelf for months.

The roastery has a small counter open Friday and Saturday, 9–2. Come in for a flat white and watch a roast if the timing lines up.
